On December 12, 2023, Kazakhstan signed a law that reduced the tax rate for mining

On December 12, 2023, the Head of State signed a law that amended and supplemented the tax legislation in Kazakhstan. According to this law, miners' digital mining payment rate was reduced from a differentiated 26 to a fixed 2 tenge when using 1 kWh of electricity from the power grid. When using autonomous gas generation, the payment rate was reduced from 10 to 1 tenge.

Additionally, digital asset exchanges were exempted from paying VAT on transactions.
